Q: I have curly hair and it's gone through some precess (coloring, hilights, etc.). After so much coloring, my ends are burned and my hair just doesn't look healthy (lots of split ends). I enjoy wearing my hair straight and curly, but I'm scared if I cut too short, it will get out of control. When it's straight it doesn't have any body or fullness (tired of using the flat iron). I like the big loos curls, but I can't find a hair salon that I can say wow. Also, I'm very nterested in getting some extensions to make my hair look fuller, but not sure wreather I should use clip on's (never had extensions). Any recommentdations? Gladis
A: Over processing of chemical products will cause damage. Fortunately there are treatments to help prevent and slow down dryness, brittlenss and breakage. Based on the informations you've provided and "trim" and conditioning treatments are necessary. Although, it doesn't mean all the damaged hair have to be removed at once. It's possible to address it gradually during regularly scheduled visits with a licensed professional. Ultimately all the damaged hair will be gone and you won't expereience the shock of losing a lot of length at once. Ultimately the life will return to your hair. As for extensions, please review extensions on the Services page, there are several options available.
Use a shampoo designed to treat dandruff and replace moisture to your hair and scalp by following up with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Lightly moisturize your scalp based upon the texture and thickness of your hair. Following this regimen weekly should provide positive results within a few weeks. A couple retail products to consider are Cream of Nature and Motions. You can also visit a retail salon where a licensed stylist may advise you of which products are best suited for home treatments.
